Parent Education Specialist
Norma Flores is our Region 1 Parent Education Specialist. Norma will provide technical assistance to enable the regional office and school districts in their work with migrant parents in the following areas:

Coordinate and facilitate RAC meetings.

Work with district parent liaison to plan local PAC meetings.

Oversee officer elections at local and regional level.

Facilitate communication between parents and migrant program staff.
-
Publish quarterly migrant parent newsletter.
-
Coordinate regional and statewide parent conferences.
-
Establish parent training opportunities throughout the region.
-
Create and update directory of all PAC/RAC officers for Region 1.

Act as a liaison between Region 1 and CDE on issues of parent involvement.

Work with local districts to increase migrant parent involvement.
-
Implement a parent training curriculum.
-
Create promotional displays for parent conferences.
-
Create a procedural manual for PAC officers.
-
Provide updates to Region 1 Director, Task Force, and Steering Committee.

Lead in design and implementation of a parent involvement model.
-
Prepare accountability, services rendered and other reports related to the parent education component.
